Search Engine Optimisation Possibly Dying?
Everyone is quite excited when it comes to SEO (search engine optimisation) and how does it really work or how effective it is when providing traffic. To be honest, it does give a lot, and when we say a lot, statistics show that about 44% of traffic delivered from a search engine will usually end up into real gains making it certainly impressive. But, where is the remaining 56% if it?
That would be from other sources which are SEM, social media, branding, email marketing, and referrals. But, you will notice that if you would divide if from the remaining percentage, it is absolutely low compared to what SEO has to offer, and in that case, why is the title questioning its existence?
First of all, we can’t deny that it is indeed a means to get traffic to your site, but as of today, the growing trend on SEO is getting too stable in a straight line, and even from time to time, dropping. What we mean is that there are more trends that grow even faster, it might be safe to say that someday in the far future, current search engines will be replaced by new ones with different features and protocols, or totally replaced by a different technology.
To answer the title, honestly, we have to say both YES and NO. Yes to the possibility that someday soon, it will be replaced, same as social media, remember Friendster? If you do, then probably you know that even something so big can still fall down. Yet, we also answered no, what gives? As of today, even with rumours spreading around as to how ineffective it is, the possibility of which why they could say such is because they might have hired Digital Marketing Agencies that aren’t capable enough when it comes to search engine optimisation. SEO today is certainly kicking and that 44% is still absolutely huge compared to the other pieces of the pie, but it does keep one safe when you are prepared. One thing that we do suggest is investing more on social media, the new ones, every year there are countless SNS that pops and some of them might just be the new big thing, one of it is getting name already is Pinterest & TSU.
